Student of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar performed excellently in Guru Nanak Dev University exams. In a press release, the Principal of the College Dr. G.S. Samra informed that Rachna, a student has bagged 1st position in the M.Sc. (Information Technology)-II Sem by getting 479 marks out of 600. The President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the student and wished them success in life. Dr. Manohar Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT and Dr. Baldev Singh were also present on this occasion.
Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and President, College Principals Association informed about the new guidelines put forth by the Government of Punjab regarding the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Reserved Category students. As per the new course of action, the Government of Punjab will ensure the scholarship amount’s delivery into the bank accounts of the eligible and verified students and students will have to subsequently deposit the same as their scholarship fee to their respective institutions. Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra lauded the Governments latest guidelines while also adding that this would go a long way in benefiting the needy but promising students of the region. He called on for the students to come with their certificates and other related documents at the time of admissions to avail the full benefit of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Category students whilst also cautioning that students not following the aforementioned guidelines in the prescribed time might miss the benefits of this scheme altogether. Principal Dr. Samra also appealed to the Government regarding the release of the previous pending installments of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme which since the session of 2014-15 has declined from 75% to 30% in 2015-16 and to nil in the session 2017-18 adding a lot of financial burden on small and rural based colleges. On behalf of the College Principals Association, Dr. GS Samra has urged the Government of Punjab to make full efforts regarding the same.
Anjali Ojha, a student of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, who secured 2nd position in University exams of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)-IV year by getting 819 marks out of 1150, whereas Manisha, Manpreet Kaur and Pushpa of the same class bagged 8th, 10th, and 12th position by getting 788, 778 and 775 marks respectively. This information was given in a press release by the Principal of the College Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. The President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the students and wished them success in life. Dr. Raju Sharma, Head Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Prof. Richa Sharma, Prof. Komaldeep Kaur and Prof. Rajbir Kaur Bahia were also present on this occasion.
